A Quick walk

This evening we had to kill a few mintues while agents took potential buyers through our house, so we stopped at a nearby lake and just took a quick walk….

After the Rain …

With a week of rain behind as and nice warm weather, there is nothing that can stop the growth in the garden! And the colors defy any photograph to portray them faithfully! Spring is truly a time of wonder – please read the quote at the top right hand corner of this blog again with some attention.

Spring Activities

Green is popping out all over. The bush in the corner of our garden looks like a bride. Everybody thinks we are getting the warm weather a bit early.

Today Jacques was asked to do the reading of the Bible in Church and he did an excellent job!

Green wants to emerge!

The trees have the green leaves straining to get out and in a week the green will hurt your eyes!

This afternoon I took this photo of the house and you can just see how green the grass has already become.

Jacques does Homework

It is always good when homework can benefit the home …

Jacques had to prepare something to eat from a recipe. The season dictated Christmas cookies – real old time South African holiday cookies.

Of course the first step was to translate the recipe:

Then he had to make sure we had everything:

Mixing things up involved some ‘hands-in’ activity:

The cookie press did the shaping:

Jacques was careful enough when things got hot!

While the cookies baked, Jacques even washed the utensild he had used:

The results looked very good, but mysteriously dissappeared very fast …..
