One of my favourite stamped belt patterns - the stamping is quick, but dying the pattern with a very thin artist brush and oil based dye, takes some time. The belt is 1 1/2 inch wide. |
|
I carved this cover for my bound leathercrafting magazines. The design comes from a paperback science fiction novel. |
|
The front cover of my Leathercraft notebook - if you use some imagination, you can see a round knife and a swivel knife (my own new design). | |
The back of the Leathercraft notebook cover - inspired by the grand master leathercrafter, Bill Stockill of South Africa. The brown border is stylized imitation wood done with a swivel knife. |

A placque I made in South Africa for the Federation of
Southern African Leathercrafters |
|
Part of the original design of the previously seen plaque. |
|
A purse I made for my wife (sized to hold dollar bills) using Tommy McLintic's frogskin finish (See Link at the top 'Faux Frogskin'). |
|
Detail of the frogskin effect achieved by using three sizes of smooth seeders (See Link at the top 'Faux Frogskin'). |

This marbling I did on leather myself - in the same way
that calligraphers do on paper. The file is a bit large, but
well worth downloading. |
This very delicate broach was made by Carol Gehrman, new
Chairman of the Headwaters Leatherguild here in the Twin
Cities. |

Here is some marbling done on leather in the 1920's. I inhereted this piece of leather from long deceased family who ordered it from England around 1924. Can anyone help - I want to know how it was done! Please e-mail me if you can. |
